Leave a Gift in Your Will

Leaving a gift in your will is a great way to ensure that we can continue to make a difference, not only now but in the future.

We rely on gifts left in wills to enable us to continue to provide vital services to our local community. In fact almost 1 in 4 of our patients are cared for through the income we receive from legacies.

There are three types of gifts in wills:

Friends and family first (residuary legacy)

We understand that caring for your family is a priority. However, after taking care of your loved ones in your will, you can leave whatever is left in your estate (the ‘residue’) to North London Hospice, either alone or alongside other charitable causes.

Cash gift (pecuniary legacy)

You could leave a fixed sum of money as a gift in your will and we are always very grateful for these cash gifts. However, it is worth noting that pecuniary gifts can devalue over time due to inflation, so it is worth reviewing your will regularly.

Gift in kind (specific legacy)

You can choose to leave specific items in your will such as property, shares, jewellery, or furniture. Leaving the contents of your home as a gift in your will is welcome as our shops can maximise their value for the hospice.
